Take on the London to Brighton Bike Ride for the ride of your life. Whether you take part in a team or decide to go solo, you're in for an unforgettable day out.
Your adventure starts on Clapham Common. With your fellow Heart Riders you'll ride through the streets of London to the beautiful country lanes and villages of Surrey and Sussex, before taking on the infamous Ditchling Beacon.
Once you've taken in the breath-taking views at the top of the Beacon you'll make the final descent into Brighton, where you can expect a hero's welcome!
We've teamed up with local communities along the route to bring you a rider experience packed with energy and atmosphere to help power you across that finish line.
You can also expect some surprises from our corporate partners, Tesco and Jaffa.

So you can have the most enjoyable experience, you'll set off at your pre-allocated start time based on your cycling ability. If you're riding with a team, don't worry, we'll make sure you're allocated the same start time as your team mates.
This year we've also limited the number of riders on the route to reduce congestion so you really can coast to the coast.
Riders aged 14 – 17 years old
The bike ride is a family event so we welcome riders aged 14 and above. You'll need to have consent from your parent or guardian to take part in the ride, which is part of the registration process.

Make your travel plans
Getting to the start
On the day of the bike ride, Southern Railway and First Capital Connect will not be accepting bikes. Make sure you think ahead and plan your travel arrangements well in advance.
Our travel service
We'll be offering a travel service so you can choose to be dropped at the start or picked up from the finish line. Tickets will cost £27 each and you can choose from the following journey options:
Before the ride
Brighton to London between 04:30 and 06.30
After the ride
Brighton to London between 12.00 and 19.30

Get ready for your event
We ask all riders to pledge a minimum of £200 sponsorship for this event. Your fundraising helps our researchers to make more discoveries.

Your rider number and start time
We will send you your rider number and start time closer to the event. We'll allocate start times depending on your experience and expected finish time. You cannot amend your start time.
On the day
At the start
Arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before your allocated start time. Please make sure your rider number is clearly visible, as you won’t be able to start the ride without it.
Your rider number and start time will be sent to you closer to the time of the event.
At the start you'll also find, toilets, refreshment stands and a merchandise tent where you can buy our exclusive London to Brighton 2016 merchandise:

- Hoodie - £20.00
There will be marshals, first aid and mechanical support along the route. There will also be rest stops with toilets and refreshments.
You'll be given a route card on the day, which highlights the route you will be riding. The 54 mile route is on a road and quite hilly.
At the finish
There will be entertainment to welcome you to the finish line. Toilets will be available and there will be food and drink on sale. You will also be able to purchase the London to Brighton 2016 merchandise.
